Terms of use

End User Licence Agreement · Last updated 23 August 2026

This agreement is between you and Kulufornia, trading as Puzzlemore (“we”, “us”). It governs your use of the Puzzlemore applications (Sudoku and any future Puzzlemore game) and of this website. By installing or using a Puzzlemore app you accept these terms.

In plain terms. We give you a personal licence to play our games. You may not resell them, decompile them, or cheat in ways that break the game for others. We are responsible for the game working as described; we are not responsible for things outside our control. Nothing here removes the consumer rights you have by law.

1. Licence granted

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Puzzlemore apps on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment.

This licence is granted, not sold. We retain all rights not expressly given to you here. Where you obtained the app through a store, the licence is also subject to that store’s terms, and the scope of use permitted by those terms applies (including any family sharing rules).

2. What you may not do

You may not:

  • Copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense or otherwise distribute the apps
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble them, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction
  • Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice
  • Modify the apps or create derivative works from them
  • Use automated means to interfere with the apps, to fake in-app purchases, or to manipulate advertising
  • Use the apps in a way that breaks the law, or that interferes with other people’s use of them

3. Purchases and subscriptions

Our apps are free to play. They offer one optional subscription, Puzzlemore Premium, which removes advertising and unlocks premium features in every Puzzlemore app covered by this agreement. Some apps may additionally offer one-off in-app purchases, such as extra puzzle packs.

3.1 Puzzlemore Premium subscription

  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the price shown in the store at the time of purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, Google Play account or Epic account when you confirm the purchase, and again on each renewal.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your store’s subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period, and you keep Premium until that period ends. Deleting an app does not cancel the subscription.
  • Free trials. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, the store will notify you in advance and, where required by law or by the store, ask you to agree before the new price applies.
  • Scope. One subscription covers every Puzzlemore app on the same store account. It does not transfer between an Apple Account and a Google account.

Payments are processed by the store you bought from: Apple, Google or Epic. We never receive or store your payment card details. Prices shown include VAT where applicable and may differ by region.

Subscriptions and in-app purchases unlock features within the app. They are a licence to use those features, not property. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred to another person or to a different store account.

Purchases are tied to the store account used to make them, not to your device. If you lose access to that account, we cannot restore the purchase. Only the store can.

4. Refunds and right of withdrawal

Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from (Apple, Google or Epic), under that store’s own policy and through that store’s own refund process. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds ourselves.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery begins if you gave prior express consent and acknowledged that you would lose the right, which is what the store asks you to confirm at checkout. Your statutory rights in respect of content that is faulty or not as described are unaffected and cannot be waived.

5. Age requirements

Our games carry age ratings assigned through the relevant rating systems for each territory. You must be old enough to accept this agreement in your country. In most of the EU that is 16, or 13 with the consent of a parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian allowing a child to use a Puzzlemore app, you accept these terms on their behalf and you are responsible for their use of the app, including any purchases made on your device. We strongly recommend enabling purchase restrictions in your device settings. See also section 10 of the privacy policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Puzzlemore apps, the Puzzlemore name and logo, the artwork, the illustrations, the puzzle generation code and all other content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law.

Classic puzzle types themselves (Sudoku, crosswords and their many relatives) are not owned by anyone and we make no claim to them. Our implementations of them are ours.

You may capture and share screenshots or video of our games, including monetised video and streams, for non-commercial and creator purposes, provided you do not imply that we endorse or sponsor you. This permission may be withdrawn if abused.

7. Updates and availability

We may update the apps to add features, fix bugs or meet store requirements. Some updates are necessary to keep the app working; if you do not install them, parts of the app may stop functioning.

We may change or discontinue a game, a feature or a puzzle pack. If we discontinue a paid feature you have already bought, we will give reasonable notice and, where required by law, offer a refund proportionate to what you have lost.

8. Termination

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the apps. We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. In practice that means attacking the service or defrauding the purchase system. On termination you must stop using the apps and delete them. Sections 6, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

9. Warranty

We provide the apps with reasonable skill and care and warrant that they will substantially perform as described on their store pages. Beyond that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the apps are provided “as is” without further warranties, and we do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free.

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have statutory rights in respect of digital content that is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose. Nothing in this agreement limits those rights, and this section does not apply to the extent that it would.

10. Liability

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profits, or loss arising from your inability to use an app. Our total liability to you in connection with a Puzzlemore app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for that app in the twelve months before the claim, or €50.

We are not liable for the content of third-party advertisements shown in the free versions of our games, nor for anything that happens on a website you reach by tapping one. Advertising is served by Google AdMob and is subject to their policies.

11. Store-specific terms

11.1 Apple App Store

This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the apps or their content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the apps. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights, breaches consumer protection law, or gives rise to product liability. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of service when using the app. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government prohibited-party list.

11.2 Google Play

Your use of apps obtained through Google Play is additionally subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the apps.

11.3 Epic Games Store

Your use of apps obtained through the Epic Games Store is additionally subject to the Epic Games Store End User Licence Agreement and Terms of Service. Epic is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the apps.

12. Governing law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the law of the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts. We would much rather you emailed info@puzzlemore.nl first. Almost everything is resolvable that way.

13. Website terms

This website is provided for information about our games. We try to keep it accurate but make no warranty that it is complete or current. We are not responsible for the content of external sites we link to. This website uses no tracking cookies and no analytics; the only data stored in your browser is your light or dark theme preference, kept in local storage on your own device.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the apps after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the apps and delete them.
